Barca - not a pot to piss in apparently...

By Chris Parry
Wednesday, 7th July 2010
... and yet they're still spouting nonsense about signing Cesc.
The BBC website tells the story, together with some ludicrous quotes allegedly from new club president Sandro Rosell.

He says: "The banks know that we have a business plan that will allow them to recover the money. The club is not bankrupt because it generates income".

Clearly though the club hasn't been generating sufficient income to sustain the vast expenditure required simply to pay the staff. Mr.Rosell might be the president but he really needs to get a grasp of basic economics.

He's still talking about doing a deal with Arsene Wenger to sign Cesc though, despite spending a kings ransom this summer to take David Villa from Valencia.

He says that "It's now or never. We'll do it fast. It won't be protracted" - too bloody true it won't be protracted - I sincerely hope Wenger's reply is just two words... "off" being the second one.

Time will tell, but let's hope we don't let him go. He's bound to depart at some point, but to be able to keep him focused and giving his all for Arsenal for another one or maybe two seasons would be good. So "**** off Barca"!
