New stadium sponsor revealed at last

By Chris Parry
Monday, 4th October 2004
There has been much speculation in the press over recent weeks with regard to naming rights of the new stadium, and it would appear that the deal has now been done.
Both the Daily Mail and the Sunday Times have speculated that the new sponsor will be Emirates (the current shirt sponsor of our blue friends in West London) and their educated guesses would appear to be bang on.

A quick check of the domain registry authority sites reveals that the domain names emiratesstadium.com and emiratesstadium.co.uk were registered only last Friday by Arsenal Football Club PLC - Fairly conclusive evidence I'd say, given that other checks using the names of other obvious candidates such as HSBC, Nike, Budweiser etc. proved to be fruitless.

One presumes that now we simply have to wait for the club to confirm this officially. I would have thought that the announcement would come sooner rather than later.
